Hello, welcome to my personal blog site. In a nutshell I am anybody, everybody and more importantly myself. I am just a man like many others living around us.
I feel I am a very unique person with a plethora of skills, likes, dislikes and hobbies.
I spent my first 22 years growing up in Dracut Ma, graduating in 1978 where I went to University of Lowell. Wasted my scholarship and had to join the workforce.
I originally wanted to be a high school history teacher but mom gently “GUIDED” me towards engineering. I will admit with scholarships and employee benefits I earned 2 degrees in computer science and digital electronics without paying anything out of my pocket.
Since 1987
I am promoted from Group Leader of the Test Tech team to an engineer at BTI
2006
I found ThingaMaWebs Web Solutions and start contracting for many fortune 100 and 500 companies.
2013
I become Grampa, seven times from this point.
What drives my life?
Being a parent, grandparent and mentor to the many young people it has been my honor to coach.
More About Me
I know some of you are looking here and saying this looks more like a business page than a personal blog site. But in all seriousness my software skills have enabled me to do many things in my life that many others can only dream of.
So who is Kevin Regan, search the web and Kevin Regan is an accomplished hockey player (no thats not me). I went to Umass Lowell on an academic scholarship, decided I should try out for the basketball team (played in high school, so why not). Didn’t make the team because of my falling grades and off to a real job I went.
I worked at a company called Wang Labs for about a year then went on to BTI where I was an electrical wireman. I progressed to become the group leader of their Test Tech group then was plucked from the floor and was added to the software development team.
During this time I went to school nights and got my associates degree in Software Development and Digital Electronics.
About this time I was married and had my first child in 9/1987 with two more children to follow 12/1990 and 9/1997.
All 3 are out in the world now with children of their own giving me 7 amazing grandchildren – 5 girls and 2 boys. Since 2013 they have brought much joy, pride and laughter.
In 2009 there was a hiccup in my career path and I took to contracting, working for some amazing companies (Fidelity, Boyle Transportation, Sapient, Capgemini, AtHome Stores, and Disney to name some) and progressing my skills. In 11/2022 I joined Hallmark and I gave up my roving days and became a fulltime employee for them.
During this time I also expanded my list of hobbies including but not limited to – 10pin bowling, photography, landscaping, DIY projects, coaching (including 14 years as a coach at Lowell Catholic girls hoops), scale model building, building dioramas, playing Santa for charity groups, cooking and oh so much more.
Oh yeah, I also create some outstanding Halloween and Christmas displays.
