My job is simple and sophisticated, so it is possible to describe and simple to understand. I originally wanted to become teacher but was led into engineering by my mom, who felt teaching was no way to make a good living (I do disagree with that by the way, but teaching is far less monetarily satisfying). I was a young Electrical Engineering student at the University of Lowell seated in an auditorium with 100’s of incoming freshman when the speaker at the front of the room said look to your left, then look to your right and said, 2 out of three of you won’t be here by the end of the year. I laughed not realizing that I would actually be two of those people. I found myself working in a stockroom that summer but vowed I would get my education.
I took night classes and technician training classes to fortify my upcoming foray into the world of being a EE. Enter BTU and my job as an electrical wireman where I continued to work on night school. I have always been a frustrated artist with a great imagination but not so wonderous hands but I thought being a EE could fill that gap. I found myself talking with a fellow EE at work and he showed me several of his designs but oddly they all looked the same and were based on a particular op-amp for everyone. I said that sound boring., I wanted to be creating new things, things that showed my creativity but this seemed counter to my dreams. It was this night I went into Software Engineering, never looking back.
With software I could bring anything I wanted to life with a million solutions at my fingertips. Things from running automated tools and machines to create the semi-conductors that run our lives today, incredible UI’s that make a nurses management of their timesheet easier so their time is better spent on patients and images to spark awe and inspire others. All with my limited artistic ability holding me back.
I found myself fallen more in love everyday with modern software design. I became a dreamer, following the sheer beauty of crafting custom code solutions along with the ability to convey messages to my customers and user with my words and mind bending images. As a designer I am not only an image-maker, but I’m also a dreamer who tells stories, conveying my thoughts to the world. For me, that great story is more important than its form.
As a designer I must be an interpreter, to understand my audiences real and virtual needs. I must anticipate those questions of people that they do not think of bringing my words and their imagination to people everywhere in the world.
For me, the design — it is the quality of life. Good design has little to do with trends. Tired of listening to how he try to give the status of a frivolous fashion phenomenon. In my opinion, the designer should strive to do more than separate things.

The main thing for me as the designer — to build and create things that are pleasing to me, but conveys the ideas and message of the customer — satisfaction must be reached for all. I work to understand what my customer wants, and to bring their message and vision to you all. To create a thing that is amazing, I need to capture enthusiasm of both of us. I am truly happy when my designs bring happiness to both my customers and their audience
- Design — is not about the appearance of something, but how it works.
- Good design — is a blending understanding and innovation.
- A good design — is simplistic and intuitive.
- Good design — Is beauty and ability to convey a message.
Although it looks like magic there is a simplicity to it all but aside from the images, videos and colors, the words and content on your page convey your message, grabbing your audience and wanting them to come back for more. This is the mission of a designer who is a dreamer.
Employing a design strategy
There are 3 ideas that will always work their way into a design. As the designer you must always craft your solution with these 3 ideas in mind.
Fast, cheap and good — from these three things you will always have two. If it’s fast and cheap, the design may never be good. If the is cheap and good, it won’t work out quickly. Lastly, if it is good and fast, it will never come cheap. But remember: of the three you still have to always choose two, hoping to meet your customers needs. It is important to choose your design method carefully by understanding fully the needs of your customer and conveying the risks to them based on there choice.
